Live Music in Longmont, week of 2/22/2026

It's a beautiful week for live music in Longmont! Here are a couple of shows we're excited about, for some unusual reasons.

Al's Hwy50 will play Bricks on Main on Friday

Al's Hwy50 is playing at Bricks on Main on Friday, February 27. Al Laughlin (one of the founding members of the legendary Colorado band The Samples) has been playing with a stellar lineup as Hwy50 for almost 10 years now, rocking stages reggae and ska-inflected rock originals.

  • Artist: Al's Hwy50

  • Venue: Bricks on Main

  • Address: 471 Main St, Longmont CO 80501

  • Date: February 27, 2026

  • Time: 6pm-9pm

  • Cover: nope

  • Tickets: Don't need 'em!

The Longmont All-Star Jazz Band will be playing at the Longmont Performing Arts Center on Sunday, March 1. What's the Longmont Performing Arts Center, you ask? Didn't the vote for that fail? Well, LPAC is the new branding for the Longmont Theater (or the Trojan Theater, for you old-school Longmontonians). It's still home to the Longmont Theatre Company, but the new leadership of that organization is making an effort to make the space more inclusive of all kinds of performing arts and performing artists. We're excited to see what happens next in this classic downtown Longmont venue. Maybe someone will produce a night of Longmont hip-hop there? We can dream. For now, get out there and support the Longmont All-Star Jazz Band, a group of exceptionally talented players from high schools throughout the city, as they play a set of swing jazz called "A Tribute to the Trojan." To be clear, it's a tribute to old theater itself, not to prophylactics.

Don't forget that Front Row LoCo is home to our city's only event calendar dedicated to live music. Check it out often so you don't miss out!

Also, before you get out there, check out these quick to help you be a better fan and supporter of live music in Longmont:

  • For ticketed shows, please buy tickets in advance, if you can. I know we're in a last-minute culture, but presales REALLY help both artists and promoters (those are the folks who make shows happen). Commit now by clicking the ticket links below.

  • You might notice the letters "NOTAFLOF" associated with some DIY shows. Don't be scared. It means "No One Turned Away For Lack Of Funds," and it's a way of ensuring that live music is available to everyone. If you CAN pay for these shows, please do, because you'll be helping the promoter, the artists, and your neighbors. But if you can't, know that your fellow music lovers have got your back.

  • Punk shows will and should include mosh pits. This time-honored tradition might look or feel dangerous to the uninitiated, but it's actually an opportunity to build community, feel the music viscerally, and blow off steam safely. It also provides valuable feedback to the performers. If you can't participate, don't want to, or just aren't into such things, but you still enjoy this music, your best bet is to post up near the back of the room.

See you in the front row!
