We're so excited that it's that time of the month again -- time to celebrate new music released by Longmont artists! The purpose of these columns is to spread the word about recordings of original music by Longmont musicians.
Artists: To have your music considered, please publish it on Bandcamp and use Longmont as your location. If that's not possible, just email longmontloud@gmail.com.
As always, please note that we tag these releases with genres to help folks know what to expect, but we also know that labels are inherently flawed and limiting. To misquote the great George Box, all labels are wrong, but some are useful.
All right. Let's get into it.
Jazz for Your Soul by Mustard Gas Hot Dogs
Artist: Mustard Gas Hot Dogs
Title: Jazz for Your Soul
Genre: Experimental, Noise
Release Date: February 2, 2026
Highlight: "Imma piece of shit you're a piece of shit"
50-word review: With three tracks in under 4-1/2 minutes, you might think the latest EP from Mustard Gas Hot Dogs wouldn't demand much from you. You'd be wrong. Channeling Napalm Death, early Butthole Surfers, godheadSilo, and a particularly angry blender, Khais Stiller and Justin Allgood aim to displease, and do it well.
404. (OG Mix) by ikerisop
Artist: ikerisop
Title: 404. (OG mix)
Genre: Hip-hop, plunderphonics
Release Date: February 5, 2026
Highlight: "should We?"
50-word review: In the tradition of crate-diggers like Coldcut and DJ Shadow, ikerisop mixes and mangles samples from obscure records, old movies, TV shows, and god-knows-where-else to construct lo-fi musical collages that sound like a quartet of gramophones serenading one another in a dark basement. It’s an unsettling, compelling, and beautiful mess.
