improvised pedals and radios by ecosystems deluxe/Dream Dress

album cover art for "improvised pedals and radios" by ecosystems deluxe and Dream Dress

Artist: ecosystems deluxe and Dream Dress

Title: improvised pedals and radios

Genre: Experimental, Improvisational, Avant-Garde

Release Date: December 27, 2025

Highlight: "In the Belly of the Beast/The Animal Yearns for True Freedom"

50-word review: Judith Tafoya and Miriam Gelb craft haunting improvised compositions that patiently and courageously plumb the depths of the human psyche, unearthing fear, despair, and anger, as well as love, hope, and something like peace. Cathartic and gripping, these pieces reward deep listening, even if avant-garde instrumental isn’t usually your bag.

Being Peace on Main Street by Being Peace on Main Street

album cover artwork for Being Peace on Main Street by Being Peace on Main Street

Artist: Being Peace on Main Street

Title: Being Peace on Main Street

Genre: Reggae, Spoken Word, AI Music

Release Date: December 23, 2025

Highlight: "Time Is Winding Up"

50-word review: George Waldrop, a Longmont-based spoken-word performer, multidisciplinary artist, and activist for unhoused rights and peace, used AI to craft these reggae-inflected settings for his poetry. Putting aside completely justified reservations and concerns about cultural appropriation and human dignity, you’ll find 18 tracks of thought-provoking lyrics and pleasantly listenable roots music.

1 Year of BEC by DJ_Level_3

Cover art for 1 Year of BEC by DJ_Level_3

Artist: DJ_Level_3

Title: 1 Year of BEC

Genre: Electronic, Darkwave, Tech House, Unnamed Electronic Subgenres

Release Date: December 17, 2025

Highlight: "Primer"

50-word review: In addition to their deliciously nerdy roots (search “oscilloscope music”), these 6 head-bobbing tracks conjure darkwave, tech house, and paranoia, while also being just plain fun to listen to. Posted on Bandcamp by Longmont’s DJ_Level_3, the works on this release were created by the BUSS ERROR Collective, a shadowy international team.

Poor Life Choices by 1213

Cover art for Poor Life Choices by 1213

Artist: 1213

Title: Poor Life Choices (demo)

Genre(s): Hardcore, Punk, Noise, Industrial

Release Date: December 12, 2025

Highlight: "This is going swell"

50-word review: Three demos that introduce 1213 (get the reference?) with a frenetic onslaught of distorted guitars, 8-bit electronics, and manic, raging vocals that sound like they're being spit out with battery acid and coffee that's been on the burner too long. 3 tracks in less than 7 minutes. Leaves a mark.

Infinite Christmas by The Odd Ditties

Cover art for Infinite Christmas by The Odd Ditties

Artist: The Odd Ditties

Title: Infinite Christmas

Genre(s): Holiday Music, Psych Pop, Outsider, Experimental

Release Date: December 1, 2025

Highlight: "Last Christmas"

50-word review: If your misanthropic soul has always felt a tad alienated from the Pluribus cheer of most holiday music, this one's for you. The Elephant 6 Collective dosed all the cookies at the office holiday party, and Joan in accounting will never be the same.  An ugly Xmas sweater turned album.
